City Prepares LED Ads Regulation

Jakarta Provincial Government prepares the governor regulation draft (Rapergub) about Ads Organization 2015. The regulation will manage the LED ads owner to determine the tariff.

Previously, the ads was managed by third party. The building owner did not manage fully

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T. Purnama (Ahok) admitted the using of LED ads idea comes from him. In fact, the tariff was five times bigger to its billboard size.

Later on, the LED building owners could determine the tariff freely, but they still pay 25 percent tax to the city administration.

Billboards in Jakarta will Be Replaced with LED Screen

"Previously, the ads was managed by third party. The building owner did not manage fully," Basuki said, Friday (9/25).

Meanwhile, the city administration asks 30 percent for non commercial ads, such as Jakarta Smart Card (KJP), Jakarta Health Card (KJS), and One Door Integrated Service (PTSP).

"We don't arrange the tariff, you do. If you have a strategic place, then you get expensive tariff," he added.

As known, city administration is about to replace all billboard with LED. It is aimed to gain the local revenue and beautify the city. Giant billboard, especially, endangers the citizens much.
